ABOUT US
We are an indepentent Baptist church, located in Watsontown, PA
OUR PASTOR
Pastor Jason King was ordained and became the Assistant Pastor of Friendship Baptist in 2015. He became the Senior Pastor in 2017. He graduated from Pensacola Christian College in 1998 and from Andersonville Theological Seminary in 2016. He and his wife, Karen, have two children (Allister and Jessica).
Our two core beliefs:
God's Word
We believe that the Holy Bible, as originally written, was verbally inspired and the product of Spirit controlled men, and therefore has truth without any admixture of error for its matter. We believe that God has preserved His Word in its inerrancy and infallibility. We believe the Bible to be the true center of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions shall be tried. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21; Isaiah 40:8; Isaiah 59:21; Matthew 24:35) We use the King James Bible in all our services.
God
We believe there is one and only one living and true God, an infinite Spirit, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. (Exodus 20:2-3; I Corinthians 8:6; Revelation 4:11; I John 5:7)
We also strive to live up to our name. We strive to be friendly to all. We hold to the Baptist distinctives: Biblical authority, the autonomy of the local church, the priesthood of all believers, two ordinances (baptism and communion), individual soul liberty, a saved and baptized church membership, two offices (pastor and deacons), and the separaton of church and state.
